I finally finished the Confederacy of Dunces!!!! That dumb gob-stopper of a book. I never go this long on one book. I would have just given up on it but I really respect the guy who lent it to me's opinion. If he said it was good I had to give it my best shot. Besides it won a pulitzer. It must be me. The writing just seemed so over written. I couldn't get into the characters at all. I do admit that the plot worked. Things did all come together in the end and I like that. But his mom and the Jones guy and the flamboyant gay guys so many characters.... it must be a Southern thing.

I'm just so happy to be onto the next book. I can't remember the title of course. I'll have to update on that later. It's some kind of compilation of short humorous travel stories. Bethany sent it to me. It has some Bill Bryson stories in it. He wrote one of my favorite books, "A Walk in the Woods", so I know it's going to be really good. Yay!
